My Sunday skincare routine


Sunday is a day of rest, but it does not mean that you will neglect your skin again as you do every single day. YES! wake up! Don't you want your skin to look flawless? your face needs pampering too, you HAVE to give one day to your skin. You don't have to impress anyone with your skin, but you have to do it for yourself. Better skin helps in improving one's self esteem (call me crazy, but that's a fact). You carry a different confidence in you when you know that you have a flawless skin like yaas go baby you're killing 'em, so you have to do it for no one but yourself.
So I decided to share with you my Sunday skincare routine which may help you to get better skin 😊
and this is not only for girls, boys can try this as well 😉 
So without further do let's get started...

1. Cleansing
Cleansing is the first and most important step in any skincare routine. If you do not clean your face properly then there's no point in going further. Cleansing your face is nothing but washing your face.
Make sure you remove all your makeup before cleansing your face.
How to do it:
Use a good cleanser to clean your face. Take a small amount of cleanser on your palm and gently massage it on your face. Massage for about 10-20 seconds. After massaging wash your face with cold water.





2.Exfoliating
To exfoliate your face means to wash or rub your face with a granular substance to remove dead skin cells. All the dead skin cells can be removed with exfoliation. Exfoliation should be carried out once or twice a week. Never over-exfoliate your face as it could be dangerous.
How to do it:
Place a soft washcloth under a warm tap. Squeeze the washcloth and place it on your face for 1 to 2 minutes. Warm water will open the pores, making it easier to exfoliate.
DIY Exfoliating  Scrub:
Ingredients:
1. Sugar
2. Water
3. Honey
Procedure:
Take small amount of sugar and add honey or water to it in a small amount. Mix it and start scrubbing it on your face and neck gently. Exfoliate your lips as well. Be extremely gentle. Scrub for at least 10-15 seconds. After scrubbing take ice cold water and dip washcloth in it, squeeze out excess water and wipe your face with that cloth.

                                       


               


3. Moisturizing face mask
Use moisturizing face mask to re-hydrate your skin. Moisturizing face mask helps in retaining moisture in skin. Moisturizing masks in markets may be a little costly so here's a diy which gives equally good result.
DIY moisturizing mask:
Ingredients:
1. Yogurt 
2. Honey
Procedure:
Take 1 tbsp of yogurt and whip it up. Add 1 tbsp of honey to it and start whipping it until it mixes completely. Now apply this mixture all over your face, hands and neck and massage for 30 seconds keep this for at least 10 minutes and the dip the washcloth in ice cold water squeeze it and wipe your face with it.





                         


4. De-tanning face mask
Now what this mask does is that it removes the tan from your skin ie. it de-tans your skin and you can get rid of all the spots and uneven skin tone by de-tanning your skin. This is an additional face mask, if you want you can skip this step. It also helps in removing unwanted facial hair from your face.
DIY de-tanning face mask:
Ingredients:
1. Gram flour
2. Turmeric powder
3. Lemon
4. Milk
Procedure:
Take 1 tbsp of gram flour and add 2 tbsp of lemon juice and a pinch of turmeric powder to it and mix it properly until it becomes a thick paste. Now apply this all over your face and hands and let it dry for 15 minutes and then start wiping your face with wet washcloth. Use this during summer. During winters just add 1 tbsp of milk instead of lemon juice and apply it all over your face. Keep for 15 minutes and then start wiping your face with wet washcloth and then wash your face with cold water. Cold water helps in closing the pores on your face.
Remember do not move your face or try to talk,eat,yawn,etc when you apply this mask and keep it for drying if you do so, the mask will start cracking and you won't get desired results. Sit still during these 15 minutes.





5. Moisturizing
This is the last and most crucial and very simple step in your skin care routine. If you skip this step, then your skin may get dry and damaged. Moisturizing is nothing but making your skin less dry by applying good moisturizer on your skin.
How to do it:
Just apply your favorite moisturizer on your face and neck in a good amount. Always use face moisturizer on your face and never use body lotion on your face and apply body lotion on your hands. Apply a light weight lip balm on your lips which should not be pigmented and if you want you can apply any under eye cream on your eyelids and under your eyes AND you are done with your Sunday skincare routine. 
When you wake up next morning you will notice a big difference in your skin. Your skin will feel soft, supple and more healthy.




Tips:
1. During cleansing make sure you massage the cleanser on your face for only 10-15 seconds and not more than that as it may dry your face.
2. Never over-exfoliate your skin as it may ruin your skin. Be very gentle during this step.
3. While applying de-tanning mask you may feel a little burning sensation, relax! there's nothing to worry about but make sure you don't apply it near your eye area.
4. You can apply all these masks on your hands too.
